Lawn Renovation

Sometimes a lawn is just beyond the point where our regular treatments can bring it back to its
former glory.

Or maybe it’s plagued by unsightly weed grasses or completely overrun by moss and weeds. At this point, some may think about having their lawn re-turfed, but for a fraction of the price and for a far superior finish, our Lawn Renovation is at hand.

We have options when it comes to lawn renovation, from an entirely new lawn where we would kill off all existing grass and weeds to start from a blank slate to build on the lawn you have.

This is a multi-stage treatment which consists of:-

Blank Slate Weed Kill or Selective Weed Kill.

We will spray your lawn with either a general weed killer, which will give us a blank slate to start from or if your lawn isn’t bad enough to warrant starting from scratch we will apply a selective weed killer to remove any weeds but retain the grass you have.

Heavy Scarfication

We will make several passes over the lawn to remove all thatch and dead grass. This will enable us to reach the soil level and give us the perfect base on which to start.

Hollow-Tine Aeration

We will now thoroughly aerate the lawn to de-compact the existing soil, create channels for our top dressing and give us a good foundation for grass seed to germinate.

To help break up the soil cores and to remove all debris, we will run the scarifier over the lawn once more.

Over-seeding

Now that the ground is perfectly prepared we will apply our seed. We use a combination of Perennial Rye and Fescue grass seed. These are used because they fair well on a range of soil types.

100% Organic Top-Dressing

We then apply our nutrient-rich, high drainage top dressing which is screened, and peat and weed free. This will encourage seed germination.

To finish off, we will over-seed again and apply a controlled release fertiliser to give the seed that little extra helping hand.

We’ll give you advice on how best to care for your lawn while it becomes established and we will visit after 2-3 weeks to check on germination.
